You will notice a new blog in our blog roll: The Whim, brought to you by Nicola Masciandaro, this year's winner of ITM's Best Coiffed Medievalist at Kalamazoo [category: male] Competition. If you missed his flowing locks in person, you can glimpse them here.
While you are cruising the internet, also check out Old English in New York for Mary Kate Hurley's post Kalamazoo post on blogging and voice (a topic of much interest recently on Stephanie Trigg's blog as well; see here and here and here).
Thanks Jeffrey, it's good to be included in such good company.
ReplyDeleteCapillarily,
Nicola
flowing locks? What about the Cohen "great hair?"
ReplyDeleteThough my own hair is legendary, I now cede glory in coiffure to younger medievalists who need the recognition.
ReplyDeleteI love The Whim, Nicola. I'm glad we have it here now as regular go-to spot. Where have you been all my life? I'm thinking, actually, that would be a great BABEL slogan ["Where Have You Been All My Life?"]. As to the hair, well dammit! I don't know exactly what I'm going to do between now and next year's Kalamazoo, but I can tell you that I plan to "best hair" next year.
ReplyDeleteI agree, concerning Mr. Masciandaro's hair at the conference. He bears a striking resemblance to Gaius Baltar.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this blog has an anonymous option. :)
Where have _I_ been, Eileen? O yes, Gaius, that is what they used to call me . . .
ReplyDeleteMy hair is MUCH better. Like the emperor's new clothes, though, it can only be seen by the pure of heart. The wicked see me as bald as a cue ball.
