Hello, Everything: Speculative Realism and Object-Oriented Ontology

by EILEEN JOY

Given the upcoming conference, sponsored by GW-MEMSI [March 10-12, 2011], "Animal, Mineral, Vegetable: Ethics and Objects in the Early Modern and Medieval Periods," and also our interest here at ITM in object-oriented ontology, materialisms, post/humanisms, and the like, I thought some of us/you/youse might be interested to know that at Timothy Morton's blog, Ecology without Nature, Timothy has posted audio podcasts of the featured talks at the UCLA program in Experimental Critical Theory's 1-day symposium [held yesterday] on speculative realism and object-oriented ontology, "Hello, Everything," and you can hear/see those by following the links here for Levi Bryant and Nathan Brown, Timothy Morton, and Graham Harman. There is also a talk by Ian Bogost, for whom I assume there will also soon be an audio podcast.
