I am happy (and by that bland and overly formulaic word I mean a variety of adjectives that include but are not limited to blissful, euphoric, overjoyed, exultant, rapturous, in seventh heaven, on cloud nine, walking on air, jumping for joy, jubilant, over the moon, on top of the world, AND tickled pink) -- to announce that Jonathan Hsy will join In the Middle as our fifth blogger. Eileen, Karl, Mary Kate, the Tiny Shriner and I could not be more pleased.
Jonathan will be introducing himself shortly in his first ITM post, and I know many readers know him and his work already, so I will simply say that Jonathan is among the smartest, kindest, wittiest and humane scholars I know. It will be terrific to have him here.
Welcome, Jonathan!

(Are these expressions of approval the logical end of the greeting card industry -- "saving you the trouble of articulating your feelings since 1901"?)

You, Jeffrey, are too kind. I am also "over the moon" to be joining you, Eileen, Karl, and Mary Kate at ITM! Dear readers: stay tuned for an introductory posting and a revamped writeup on the New Chaucer Society conference (for starters) ...
